Appleton Estate: A Full Portfolio Redesign
Appleton Estate is one of the most recognized rum brands in the world. For anyone who has visited Jamaica, a bottle of Appleton is practically a rite of passage. When the decision was made to refresh the brand's packaging and upscale the portfolio with an emphasis on aged and rare expressions, print-ability™ was called in to handle production.
Working closely with our agency partner and the Brand Team, we managed hundreds of label mechanicals, shippers, point of sale materials and contributed to the updated Brand Guidelines. The scope extended well beyond a single market — we adapted artwork across multiple regions including US/Canada, EU, Mexico, Jamaica and Australia/New Zealand, each with its own regulatory requirements for mandatory copy, legal text and compliance.
This is a sweet spot for print-ability™. We bring the design skill to maintain creative intent across formats, but also the production expertise and attention to detail required to manage varying regulatory frameworks without slowing down the timeline.
The premium tiers of the portfolio — particularly the older aged expressions — required specialty print treatments including varnishes, embossing and linen substrates. We conducted testing and prototyping across these techniques to ensure the Brand Team was satisfied with the finished product while staying within budget.
What began as a single redesign project grew into a multi-year relationship with various Brand Teams across the broader Campari Group portfolio — a testament to the trust built through consistent, detail-driven production work.
